An extraordinary vintage Le Phare–Jean d’Eve in 18k yellow gold, featuring a striking deep blue lapis-lazuli-effect enamel dial and the unmistakable jumping retrograde Sectora display.
Turn it over and the story gets even better. The caseback is engraved “Dubois-Dépraz S.A., Le Lieu – Le Phare Jean d’Eve – 100e anniversaire”, linking the watch directly to the legendary Vallée de Joux complication specialist. Believed to have been created around 1988 for the centenary of Le Phare–Jean d’Eve, this exceptionally unusual piece has been described as an apparent prototype from that anniversary project.
A wonderfully obscure piece of Swiss watchmaking history — experimental, beautiful and almost never seen.
