Inside Vacheron Constantin’s 1966 Catalogue
When we acquired one of the latest Vacheron Constantin watches to join our collection—preserved in true time capsule condition and complete with its original straps, box, guarantee holder, and this fascinating period catalogue—we found ourselves holding a small piece of history.
This is a Vacheron Constantin catalogue from 1966, featuring the references that were in production at the time. Beyond the watches themselves, it’s fascinating to see photographs of royalty and historical icons, reflecting the prestige and image the Maison sought to convey.
Leafing through its pages felt like travelling back in time. We came across models we’ve had the pleasure of owning and selling, others we had never encountered before, all sharing the timeless elegance that defines Vacheron Constantin.
Among the highlights are the magnificent Chronomètre Royal models, a skeleton version ((only 1.64 mm high) the thinnest wrist-watch in the world, available in both white gold (reference 70166), a beautifully shaped pocket watch (reference 6710) whose design recalls the work of Gilbert Albert, and an extraordinary coin watch made from a $20 gold coin (reference 4928).
The piece that captured our attention the most, however, was a refined ladies’ Riviera in platinum, set with sapphires (reference 7122). A true jewel, perfectly expressing the creativity and elegance of Vacheron Constantin during the 1960s.
