Svend Andersen is an absolute pioneer of the Independent Watchmaking scene - he left Patek Philippe’s grand complication atelier in the 80’s to start his own brand and co-founded the AHCI in 1985. Today I am happy to offer 2 magnificent and very early pieces from his collection.
The ‘Communication I’ is the first ever serially produced Andersen Geneve wristwatch. Based on the Patek 1415HU aesthetic, it is housed in a stunning 32mm 18k yellow gold and mounts a Louis Cottier derived automatic movement.
This example features a very rare ‘ivory’ dial - and an important caseback detail - ‘Luigi Verga Milano’ meaning the watch was sold in the Milanese retailer. The watch comes with in mint, unpolished perfect conditions, with original buckle and Andersen Geneve pouch.
