One of the watches that has become iconic over the past twelve years: the Universal Genève Tri-Compax, reference 8811101/02. The serial number 2.5 places its production in 1968.
We are talking about the final series produced in the second half of the 1960s, where we find the combination of the historic Universal caliber 281 — featuring triple date and moonphase complications, already used by the maison since the 1940s — together with the distinctive late-1960s design. Notable elements include the black aluminum tachymeter bezel and a sporty aesthetic reminiscent of the Speedmaster.
A defining feature of this reference is its four sub-dials, here in a reverse panda configuration, contributing to a highly balanced and attractive design.
The example is in excellent condition: original signed crystal, unpolished case with sharp and clearly visible serial and reference numbers — a detail that is often a weak point in these models. Original crown and clean white sub-dials, free from marks or blemishes, another rarely found characteristic in this reference.
