A Movado Super Sub Sea Chronograph is one of the most interesting dive chronographs produced by Movado in the second half of the 1960s.
The watch features a 41 mm stainless steel case, a very large size for the period, with screw-down caseback and the robust construction typical of true tool watches. This example remains unpolished, with a strong and well-defined case. The dial is immaculate, with the original tritium lume aged into a beautiful patina.
Inside the watch is the caliber 146 HP, a manual-wind chronograph movement derived from Martel, later used by Zenith after acquiring the manufacture. It is a column-wheel chronograph, representing one of the last great manual chronograph movements before the arrival of the El Primero.
The same watch can also be found branded Zenith, sharing the same case design and movement, highlighting the close relationship between Movado and Zenith during that period.
